莫理循是一路从西安、咸阳走来，于1910年2月7日左右到达甘肃平凉的泾川，经过平凉府 – 会宁县 – 定西县 向西北前进，于2月17日前后到兰州，后经皋兰县-永登县（2.28日）-向西北凉州（武威）行进。
